Want to learn how to earn $10k a month online? Of course, you do!
Earning $10k a month is a goal of many people. With this income, you might be able to quit your job, buy a house, invest and reach your personal finance goals.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the median income in US households in 2020 was $67,521 per year.

1. Become a Virtual Assistant
Virtual assistance is probably the most in-demand service you can offer and easily make money from these days.
As a virtual assistant, you provide support to business owners. Typically, VAs handle repetitive tasks, like data entry, scheduling, and managing social media pages for business owners.
Virtual assistance has a huge scope. There are so many virtual assistant services you can offer to make money from home. If you need ideas, here’s a list of 275 VA services you can offer.
But, can you really make $10,000 per month as a VA? Of course, you can!
If you have the skills and knowledge of an efficient VA, this home-based job can help you earn $10K a month or more. According to ZipRecruiter, the top-earning VAs can make around $115,000 a year.
Virtual assistance is a scalable business. You can take one or two full-time clients, but if you wish to earn more money or build a six-figure business, specialize in more technical services such as online marketing, product sourcing, Facebook ads, and more.
If you want to learn if virtual assistance is the right job for you, I recommend taking Fully Booked VA’s 3 Clients In 3 Days Workshop.
It is a free 3-day video series wherein Gina Horkey sends you a new video each day that helps you tap into your existing network, learn how to sell your VA services, and build a solid client base.
2. Become a Blogger
If you want to be your own boss, set your own schedule, and earn money writing about your passions, then blogging might be for you. Blogging is one of the most profitable online business ideas you can start for less than $4 per month.
With a blog, you can generate passive income. You can make money from display advertising, affiliate marketing, selling products and online courses, sponsorships, and more. And yes, it is possible to earn $10,000 a month or six figures from a blog!
What I love so much about blogging, though, is that blogs are digital assets. You can sell them.
The downside is that it can take some time to build a blog. It took me months before I started earning some money from blogging, and about a year to start earning at least $1,000 per month from this blog. But my income has been steadily increasing!
How much money you can earn from blogging depends on your niche, the traffic your blog has, and the monetization strategies you use.

3. Start an Amazon Business
Want to make $10,000 per month with a business that you can run as a side hustle? Consider joining the biggest e-commerce giant which is Amazon!
In the first quarter of 2021 alone, Amazon was making $837,330 in revenue per MINUTE. And you can piggyback on Amazon’s popularity and influence, and gain access to millions of its customers by becoming an Amazon seller.
As an Amazon seller myself, I can attest that selling on Amazon is one of the best ways to make a six-figure income from e-commerce. And the best way to do it is by selling private label products.
What exactly are private label products, you ask? In a nutshell, private label products are products that are manufactured by one company and then purchased by another (who could be you).
You put your own brand to the product: brand name, logo, tagline, and then market them on Amazon as your own.
What’s great about this business is that with the Amazon FBA Program, you don’t need to worry about shipping orders to your customers. Amazon can do it for you for a fee, so you can focus on more important aspects of your business such as marketing.
This business idea has a steep learning curve, however.
You need to learn how to determine whether your product has demand on the platform and is profitable.
In addition, you need to learn how to negotiate with suppliers and ship your products, as well as learn how to create a listing that converts.
4. Sell on Amazon with Retail Arbitrage
Another opportunity that you can explore to make $10,000 a month on Amazon is retail arbitrage.
Retail arbitrage refers to finding products that you can buy low, and then sell high on Amazon. As opposed to private label where you build your own brand, you buy and sell products from known brands with retail arbitrage.
Most people who indulge in this kind of business often look at clearance sales, buy those items, and then list them up on Amazon with a markup price.
The key to succeeding on Amazon with retail arbitrage is to be really diligent with it. According to Ryan Grant, the guy behind the Online Selling Experiment and has made a seven-digit income selling on Amazon, it all boils down to hard work.
There are tools that help you identify a product’s profitability on Amazon too, but at the end of the day, it’s always about the amount of effort you put in.
See whether retail arbitrage is for you by joining this FREE 7-day Amazon FBA course by Jessica Larrew from The Selling Family.
5. Sell Online Courses
If you are an expert in something and would like to share your knowledge with others, you can very well make five digits selling courses online. This is especially handy if you’re looking to make some passive income.
Online courses are terrific passive income generators especially if you create and sell courses that are in-demand.
With that said, you want to think of courses that could be helpful to your target audience. Identify a specific problem that your audience faces, and then give them actionable, step-by-step solutions to help them overcome such problems.
Take Teri Ijeoma, for example. She’s been making massive income from her online course on trading on the stock market and helping people become debt-free.
If you are already blogging, you can leverage your blogging niche and create online courses for your audience.
Nick Stephenson created a course called “Your First 10,000 Readers” aimed at helping authors market their work better. The course generated over $130,000 in sales on its first week.
Creating courses can take some time and effort, initially. But nowadays, there are several platforms that allow you to create and sell online courses easily, such as Teachable.
How much money you make from this business depends really on what you teach. But to give you an idea, I’ve paid as much as $1000 per course. So, YES, selling courses can be really profitable!
6. Start a Consulting Business
Another excellent way to build an income from your skills and knowledge is a consulting business.
Businesses and individuals need consultants to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
A consulting business can bring in extra cash, but it’s also scalable, so it can pretty much become a full-time job, too.
Consultancy services can differ wildly, from online marketing and finance in business, to personal development and stress management among individual clients.
If you’re aspiring to become a consultant, it helps to build a name in your chosen niche. While you can be a “generalist” consultant, it’s easier to target an audience when you know what exact services you want to offer.
For example, if you are well-versed on the internet and social media, you can become a business social media marketing consultant.
Consultants nowadays do not have to meet their clients in person. Many go the online route and package their services in a way that clients can reach digitally.
This makes a consulting business or career a potentially lucrative work-from-home opportunity.
Like any profitable business idea, growing a consultant business may require some upfront work. And depending on your expertise, you could earn hundreds to a thousand per client appointment.
7. Start a Youtube Channel
With over 2 billion monthly users, YouTube has indeed become a powerful platform for earning money from home.
Fortunately, you don’t have to be a whiz to start a YouTube channel. But like most of the businesses mentioned in this list, you need to identify your niche. By nailing down a niche, you are also able to identify your target audience.
How much you can make from YouTube? According to Influencer Marketing Hub, average YouTubers make at least $3 per 1,000 ad views.
It may sound like a lot of work to earn $10,000 but it is definitely possible if you constantly create content. The highest-paid YouTubers are even making millions of dollars per year!
Ads are not the only way to monetize a YouTube channel. Just like with blogging, you can also make money through affiliate content, brand sponsorships, and selling products, services, and merchandise.

8. Become an Influencer
If you have a highly engaged community on social media, you can leverage it and make money as an influencer. Influencer marketing proves that social media is merely a platform for communication and entertainment; it is also a space that businesses can commercialize.
Influencers make money through a variety of means, such as affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, and brand collaborations. Some influencers also sell their own products and promote their services. Others also make money from subscriptions to their ebooks and digital products.
Influencers have unlimited earning potential, so making $10,000 per month is not uncommon. Micro-influencers can make a few hundred dollars from sponsored posts, but the most popular ones with the likes of Kylie Jenner can easily make seven digits from a single sponsored post!
Don’t worry if you’re just starting to grow your community. If you still have a couple of thousand followers, consider joining influencer networks. These networks act as middlemen between brands and content creators. You can find brands you want to work with and pitch to them, or brands may reach out to you with a proposal. Joining an influencer network can be a great stepping stone in getting your name out there.

9. Dropshipping
Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit waiting to get unleashed, but have problems coming up with the finances needed to get a business rolling?
It’s high time you explore dropshipping!
Dropshipping is a business model that has been making ordinary folks become high-earning entrepreneurs.
Dropshipping allows you to sell products without holding physical inventory. When a customer orders the product, a third-party company will pack and ship the order to your customer.
The customer pays you, you pay the supplier or manufacturer, and you pocket the rest as profit. And since you won’t have to keep the product in stock, you won’t have to shell out loads of money upfront.

10. Sell on Etsy
Etsy is another online marketplace known for unique handcrafted, customized, and vintage products.
So, if you have always loved crafting or have great product ideas that Etsy customers would pay for, then you should open a shop on Etsy.
What I love about Etsy is that it is cheap to use and would only cost you $0.20 to list a product on Etsy! You also don’t need to be technology savvy to be able to start selling on Etsy.
Note, however, that Etsy does not have its own fulfillment program like Amazon so you would need to fulfill customer orders yourself.
So, if you want to scale up and you don’t want to handle the logistics part, you can also use a third-party fulfillment service to do the job for you. I also use a fulfillment service to fulfill Etsy orders for me to save time and money since shipping from my location (Puerto Rico) would be more expensive.
As with any online business, you need to build a strong brand for your shop. That means getting it all together, from the graphics, text content, images to doing the nitty-gritty of marketing. You can use some Etsy tools to make this task easier.
Successful Etsy sellers have turned this side-gig into a source of full-time income. Take Alicia Shaffer, owner of an online boutique store called Three Birds Nest, made $70,000 in monthly sales when she first started on Etsy. She was hailed as Etsy’s richest seller in 2015.
11. Sell Printables
If you’re looking for more ways to make $10k a month in passive income, you might want to consider selling digital downloads, especially printables.
Printables are digital products that people purchase to download and print at home. These could range from planners, checklists, meal plans, schedules, journals, stickers, graphic arts, and more.
Have zero to little experience making printables? No worries! There are tons of apps and templates that you can use to come up with professional-looking printables that sell. Canva is my favorite tool for creating printables! It’s free and beginner-friendly.
You can sell printables on Etsy as well or on your own website or store. The price range for each download varies, but you could easily sell them at $3-$5 each.
You might think that’s cheap, but remember, you also didn’t have to invest much in making them. Also, printables are digital products, so you don’t have to factor packing and shipping into their costs.
Selling printables allows you to earn money passively. It does require upfront work, but once they’re up on your shop and ready to download, you could make money from it while you sleep.
One of the most popular successful printables sellers is Sarah Titus. She struggled to raise her kids on a single mom’s income, so she sought ways to make an extra income stream from home. She learned that she could sell printables on Etsy. In the first month, she made over $50K selling printables, and her business scaled up quickly that she started making $3 million per year.
Want to learn how to get started selling printables? Check out this free workshop by Julie and Cody at Gold City Ventures. In this workshop, Julie and Cody will teach you what kind of printables to sell, and things to do to make your Etsy shop a success.
12. Offer Web Development Services
You might think that a web development services business is only for those who have in-depth knowledge in building and designing websites.
But the truth is, you only need a small amount of formal education and training to get into this business or career. There are people who have learned web development by themselves, in their spare time, while maintaining a day job.
So, what do web developers do?
The job title may sound quite intimidating for people who are somewhat technology-challenged. In a nutshell, web developers build and maintain websites. They make sure that websites run without any glitches or issues, are easy to navigate, and project well across devices.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, web development is projected to grow at a rate of 13% for the next decade, which is faster than average for all occupations. This means that there is much demand for web developers in the foreseeable future, making it an incredible long-term job or business.
If you’d like to get started with development, you can take courses on Skillshare or Udemy.
You can find your first freelance clients on online job marketplaces like UpWork and FlexJobs. But if you want to scale up, you can turn it into a full-fledged business from home by getting clients directly.
And in terms of earning potential, according to ZipRecruiter, some of the highest-paid web developers make over $130,000 a year.
