How does Swagbucks Work?
Earning money with Swagbucks is pretty simple and straightforward. Everything is transparent, so you know exactly how much you’ll make in SB (Swagbucks’ digital currency) for completing a task. So, the more surveys or tasks you complete, the more SB you make.
Note, however, that to earn a dollar (US), you need to make 100 SB and you can only cash out your earnings via PayPal when you’ve reached $25 worth of SB’s or 2500 SB.
You have the option to also redeem your rewards as gift cards.

How Do You Earn With Swagbucks?
The first thing that you have to do is to sign up with Swagbucks, either by entering your email or using your Facebook login. Make sure to click on the link sent by Swagbucks to your email account to activate your Swagbucks account and start using it.
Once you have an active Swagbucks account, you can start doing tasks that earn you Swagbucks points. I recommend installing the app on your phone so you can use it anytime and anywhere you are.
Here are the different ways to earn money through Swagbucks:
1. Answering Surveys
If there’s one thing that will make up the most of your SB points, it would be answering surveys. Surveys vary in length and rewards. Choose Gold Surveys first because they typically offer the highest points. For instance, you can earn at least double the points doing gold surveys compared to the regular surveys.
Many Gold surveys offer around 300-500 points and there are a few that pay a lot more, such as this survey that offers 18,000 SB. That’s equivalent to $18. So, check out your account every day for these high-paying surveys to boost your Swagbucks income.
2. Watching Videos
Another way you’ll earn Swagbucks points is to watch videos. Io instead of heading over Youtube to watch your favorite tutorials or heartwarming pet clips, use Swagbucks Watch to start watching videos that interest you and earn passive income at the same time.
Don’t worry, whatever your videos of interests are, Swagbucks has everything, from cooking shows and life hacks to tutorials and funny pets. You can even pick a preferred genre and start playing these videos. At the end of each clip, you have to give a rating (thumbs up or down) and then proceed with the next one in your playlist.
3. Playing Games on SB
Swagbucks also allows you to play both free and paid games and accumulate points as you do so. For paid games, you need to buy coins, and as you play, you will rack up points. Games come in different types, including Bejeweled, solitaire, Flip Out, Deal or No Deal, and so much more! If you don’t want to spend money on coins and still want to play games and earn points, Swagbucks also offer limited free games for you to enjoy.
4. Surfing the Web
Swagbucks is also a search engine, so much like Google, Bing, or Ask. But what makes surfing the web more rewarding is well, Swagbucks will also reward you with some points just by using it. How about that, getting paid for something you already do for free?
Just in case you’re a bit forgetful, you can download the Swagbucks Chrome extension so you’re always prompted to use the Swagbucks search bar when you need to surf. There’s only a slight difference between the Google and Swagbucks search results, so the next time you need to search for a recipe or a how-to tutorial, you might want to use the search engine that rewards you.
5. Go Shopping Online
Swagbucks also has its shopping portal where you can browse through thousands of products, most of which will potentially earn you SB points for every dollar you spend. And the entire process is not very different as you would shop in other online stores like Amazon.
Swagbucks has also partnered with numerous stores and popular brands, so there’s always something you can find, whether you’re looking for personal products, kitchen appliances, clothing, home decors, and more. And the best thing is, you get some points or cashback for spending money on shopping, which in turn, you can use for future shopping expenses.
6. Refer a Friend
How would you like to help a friend, family or colleague earn some Swagbucks for themselves? Once you’ve seen and proven how easy it is to gain points and turn these points into gift cards or Paypal money, you’ll realize that you’d like to share these tricks with other people as well.
And the best thing about sharing Swagbucks to another person is that you’ll also get a slice of the pie! As your referrals earn points using Swagbucks, you’ll also get 10% of whatever points they’ve accumulated that given day and you’ll earn from their earnings forever.
Referring a friend to use Swagbucks is a fast, painless, and easy way to rack up points, even while you sleep.
Swagbucks Hacks to Maximize Earnings
Now that you know what Swagbucks is, what it does, and how to use it to make money, it is now time that you learn the nifty tricks to make the most out of Swagbucks. Here are some tips!
- Install the Swagbutton to your computer – the Swagbutton is an extension that prompts you how much points you can earn when you visit a website when you shop online. You can still shop through the Swagbucks anytime, but the Swagbutton just makes online shopping even more convenient.
- Keep Swagbucks Watch running on the background – watching videos on Swagbucks doesn’t mean you have to keep the tab open and literally watch all the videos that you need to earn points. You can put the computer on mute and keep the Swagbucks Watch tab open. Let the videos play and run on the background, and then you can go back to whatever it is that you need to do online.
- Keep an Eye for Swagbucks Codes – Swagbucks will throw in a code around the website and its social media platforms. Codes are also available if you have installed the Swagbutton to your browser. These codes often come in a combination of letters and numbers. When you spot a code while you surf the web or shop online, get ready to jot it down and enter it to the Swagbutton or your Swagbucks account. Each code gives you points, so the more codes you see, the more points you get.
- Meet your daily goal – Swagbucks will display your daily goals on the homepage. You earn points when you tick off these goals one by one, and then more points when you conquer the entire set within the day.
- Don’t forget to redeem your points – of course, you want to keep the rewards coming, but you don’t have to wait until you’ve accumulated thousands of points before you redeem. You can redeem your points as Paypal money when you’ve reached a minimum of $25, or as gift cards, say $3 gift card at Amazon when you’ve collected 300 points or $5 gift card for 500 points.
Will Swagbucks Make You Wealthy?
The straight answer is NO. Swagbucks is not designed to make anyone rich and to replace a full-time income. Nobody does it for a living. PERIOD.
However, it can give you some fun money to blow on coffee or movies, as well as give you gift cards for when you shop online. It will never, and never can, replace your entire paycheck.
That said, I recommend Swagbucks if you are looking for fun ways to make money or free gift cards to buy Starbucks. It may not be something that you can do for a living, but you can use Swagbucks to kill time while you’re commuting to work, waiting for your lunch, or when you’re bored.

Lately to many of these survey tracks your computer yet they continues to ask the same question over and over and over.again but when they ask you to be honest with your answer why us it these companies will state survey x is 15 minutes yet when you open it is 25 minutes so I guess the honesty only applies to the survey taker and not the survey company .And wasting my time answer the same prequestion over and over just to get DQ is not my ideal of fun.no I should qualify for every survey but trying 15 surveys in a row to get DQ us not right either
