1.  Become a product tester for clothing brands

Lots of clothing brands are willing to give away clothing for free to product testers in exchange for your honest review. Here are the top brands that offer free online clothes and shoes to product testers.

Nike

One of the most popular clothing brands, Nike, has a product testing program that allows athletes to try out new products. You have to apply online to get into the program. If you qualify, you will have to send them your measurements so they can provide you with clothes and shoes that best fit you. You will try out the item and then send the company your honest review. You can sign up for Nike’s product testing program here.

Under Armour

Similar to Nike, the sports apparel brand Under Armour also runs a product testing program. The Under Armour Wear Testers get to have the opportunity to try out the brand’s newest products before they hit the market. Athletes who sign up for this program have the advantage of getting chosen. You can visit Under Armour’s Field Testing program to sign up, fill up your application, and wait to hear back from them. If you are chosen, the company will send you shoes, shirts, or hoodies for you to try out.

Reebok

Reebok also has its own shoe wearer testing program where you could sign up to test their merchandise. When you sign up, you will be asked certain questions such as interests and shoe size. Reebok will notify you via email if you qualify, and then send you their merchandise for review. You will test the product for a period of two to four weeks and then send it back to them for inspection. Click here if you’d like to apply for Reebok’s product testing program.

2. Amazon Product Reviewer

Reviews are the lifeblood of every brand on Amazon. As an Amazon seller myself, I know that for a fact. And I know so many sellers looking for people to review their product.

There are ways to find opportunities like these. You could join Facebook groups to find sellers looking for product reviewers. Please note that to become an eligible Amazon product reviewer, you might need to have Amazon Prime or have made purchases on Amazon in the past.

You can also sign up as a product reviewer at AMZDiscover, a website designed primarily for Amazon sellers to find people to review their products. In return of your review, you’ll get products, including clothes, for free!

3. Clothing swaps

Another excellent way to get free clothes is through clothing swaps. You can host your own clothing swaps among family and friends. During the swap party, you may trade or donate your clothes, and get some new clothes yourself from the other attendees. Or, you could join clothing swap sites to exchange clothes with others online.

One of the most popular online swapping sites, Rehash, has made it easy for people to connect with others looking to exchange clothes. The site allows swapping of any type of clothing, from socks, sweaters, dresses, even accessories.

To get started, you need to take photos of the clothes you want to swap and then post them on Rehash. You want to accompany the photos with a description (size, condition, category, etc.) and then wait for offers or initiate a trade. Once you’ve reached an agreement with the other person, you are ready to ship your item and wait for the swapped clothing to arrive.

4. Answer Surveys on Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a FREE app that allows you to earn money in many ways including answering surveys, shopping at their partner stores or even watching in-app videos. You could choose gift card payments and use your gift cards to buy clothes from your favorite clothing brands! If you want to know more about Swagbucks, read my Swagbucks Review here.

5. Free online clothes on Craigslist, Freecycle, and Community Clothes Closet

Craigslist is another excellent destination to find free clothing online. People often go to sites like Craigslist to list up items they no longer want, such as outgrown baby clothes, adult clothing, and accessories. You might think that these clothes are no longer in wearable condition, but most people just want to dispose of them to quickly declutter their home or they just can’t be bothered to sell them.

Much like Craigslist, Freecycle.org is another platform that allows you to get free clothes online. This is a non-profit movement aiming to promote giving and receiving free items from neighbors and community members. If you check it out, you might find free clothes that are your size and style on Freecycle.

If you’re in a really tight bind or know someone who is, consider looking into Community Clothes Closet. It’s a platform that provides clothing for free to people who may be struggling financially, especially those who are disabled, veterans, working poor, and the elders. Most of the clothes are donated and you’ll find that some of them are still unused or used but in perfect condition.

6.  Join giveaways

Businesses in the fashion and apparel industry have become more innovative in engaging new customers, and one of their famous tactics is hosting a giveaway. Giveaways often have these in common: commenting on the post and tagging a specific number of your friends. Sometimes, brands decide on the winners; other times, they do it via raffle.

You want to spot giveaways before they come to an end. I suggest you set up Google alerts for terms like “shirt giveaway,” “clothes giveaway” or “shoe giveaway” and the like. That way, you’ll find the most recent giveaways and still have plenty of time preparing your entry. It also pays to stalk your favorite clothing brands on social media so you can be up-to-date when they’re hosting a contest or a giveaway.

And oh, another caveat, go to Reddit and type in “clothes giveaway” on the search bar. You’ll find plenty of valuable results, and you can filter them according to date, so you can find the freshest giveaways to join.

7.  Join store referral programs

A lot of clothing stores generally have referral programs that you can take advantage of to score new clothes for free. Such stores generally require you to refer your friends to buy from them, and each referral will entitle you to a point/points. When you’ve reached the minimum number of points, the store may give you free clothes or convert your points into cash.

Some of the most popular online referral programs are the following:

ThredUp

This is an online consignment and thrift store that carries a wide variety of clothing options. ThredUp pays you $10 each time you refer another person to shop from their site. You can earn up to $580 in referrals per year. Since the site carries clothing items that are heavily discounted, your referral credits can buy you a number of new clothes. Additionally, you can sell clothing on the site, and ThredUp pays you via PayPal or shopping credits.

Rue la la

This is a members-only online shopping site (but membership is free). It also runs a referral program wherein you get $10 in-store credits for each successful referral. Your credit is activated when the referee’s order is shipped. You can use your credits each time you shop from the site. But unlike other sites, Rue la la does not impose a maximum number of credits you can earn, so you can just keep referring to earn more credits.

Swap.com

This site works in an almost similar fashion as ThredUp. Swap.com sells a wide variety of preloved and secondhand apparel that are still of excellent quality. When you join the site’s referral program, you earn $10 each time you successfully refer a friend. However, you’ll only earn Swap credits and not cash, but it’s still useful especially if you purchase from their store a lot.
