Personally, I’m leaning towards starting a blog because I love writing and find it easy to express my thoughts this way. Plus, it allows me to really delve into the topics I care about in a more detailed way. However, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram are also great options since they cater to visual content and a broader audience.

To get started, you simply need to visit the Amazon Associates website and sign up. The sign-up process is pretty simple and doesn’t take much time. I’ll break it down into a few easy steps, so you can get started.
- You have two options: signing in with your existing Amazon account or creating a new one. If you already have a personal Amazon account that you use for shopping, it is usually a good idea to create a separate account for your affiliate business to keep things organized.
- Once you’re signed in, you’ll move on to the next step, which is entering your account information. You will be asked to provide details like your name, address, and phone number. Amazon needs this information to ensure that they’re dealing with a legitimate applicant.
- After you’ve entered your account info, you’ll need to provide information about the website, social media, or app you plan to use for promoting products. If you have a website, simply type in the address of the site.
- After you complete the step, set up your account by entering your store ID. Usually, your store ID is similar to your primary website name. Think of it as your personal label for your affiliate links.
- Lastly, you’ll need to explain the purpose of your website. Amazon wants to know what type of content you create. Are you focusing on tech reviews, fashion tips, or travel guides? You will briefly describe what your website is all about, what you aim to achieve with it, and how you’ll drive traffic to your site.
4. Find products that fit your niche and audience.
Staying niche-specific helps keep your content focused and relevant, while also reinforcing your authority in that space. Cons
Commissions are small.
When you promote products through the program, you earn a percentage of the sale when someone makes a purchase using your affiliate link. However, these percentages often range from just 1% to around 20%, depending on the product category. For instance, when you promote a $100 product and earn a 5% commission, you will only receive $5.
24-hour cookie means you need consistent traffic
